Surf City was great. We heard about the marina there from Henry on Sno- Dog. What a great little spot. The ocean was just about a block from us and Alan had to go catch a few waves. Trying to relive his youth only to find out he isn't 20 anymore , but could still tackle the waves. This little seafood market was right by the marina. Tomorrow we leave Surf City and head for Beaufort N.C.

Great pictures. I grew up about a mile south of this Marina. Brings back many fond memories.
We have been planning our retirement adventure for sometime which was to complete the Great Loop. We bought 121 acres in northwest Florida in July 2002 after Alan had been misdiagnosed with Lymphoma . Our plan was that in 5 years we would move here and it would be our home. In 2007 we sold our home, then in October 2007 we sold the business. We bought our boat "Simplicity" after we sold our house. We made our permanent move to Chipley and have loved every minute of it. We love being around nature, trees and the feel that you are out in the middle of the woods away from civilization , yet we are only 2 miles from town. We built a barn style home and we live totally off grid. In 2011 along with our sons Zack and Adam we started our honey production. Alan has been messing with bees since he was seventeen. It has become a family affair with our grandchildren Dom and Astrid helping along with Linda's mom Nita and Zack’s wife Beatriz with the honey harvest. We hope you enjoy our Wildflower and Tupelo honey:)
